Learning a language means learning how to listen, speak, read and write in that language. Among these four skills, listening is the easiest one. Whereas writing is usually considered to be the most challenging skill to learn. This fact is true about all of the languages all around the world.

People are able to learn how to listen and speak in their mother tongue by themselves and need no academic studies. But it is not the same for reading and writing. Most people need academic studies, to learn how to read and write, even in their mother tongue.

The same procedure has always been applied to language learning. Language learning starts with working on language learners’ listening skills and ends up with working on their writing. Taking a more attentive look at the examples for basic English writing which we mentioned here, we will find out that words white, new, and homeless all belong to a special category of words called adjectives; the words house, book, and dogs all belong to another category of words called nouns. We could formulate a rule, which based on English writing holds for the sentences mentioned.

Adjectives can never come immediately after nouns.
